Guest's Comments ... Vacation & Fishing References: Just wanted to thank you again for the great week up there!!! There are a couple of things that Bec, kids and I really noticed that made a real difference for us. First off the cleanliness of the cottage was awesome, the water slide of course the kids could not get enough of. Then there were the subtle little things that just happened around the camp by you and your family/staff making it a real quality experience. It was to say the least a great experience and we look forward to many more. I have already talked to my buddy and we want to come up for opening 2007 fishing week if possible. As soon as Rebecca gets her schedule for 2007 school year I will confirm the summer vacation week with you as well. Thanks again for your hospitality - it was really appreciated. Gary, Kerrie and Family Well, our ride home was exciting - Crystal got to see 2 moose a cow and a calf ! Just letting you know that we had a great, relaxing time. The service and hospitality you have is beyond any places I have been before. The meals we had we excellent and enough to feed my whole family (if I could just get some meals like this at home!) The cottage was in excellent shape, very clean and comfortable. Again Crystal and I would like to thank you for the great time and are already planning 2 trips there next year. Oh yeah and as for the fishing well I don't know if we should blame the fish for not biting or blame my partner for not catching them. Anyways again thanks for the great time and we will see you next year.

Week of June 24th-2006 Outpost camp - Golden Eagle Camp What a great week we had! Turned out to be a wonderful experience for the 3 rookies I had with me. They all did great and all loved every minute of their trip. My wife, Vickie, and I had stayed a week at the Outpost Cabin in 2004 and had a wonderful time. Vickie can "rough it" better than most guys I know, so I was a little worried about the "city boys", but they all got right into the experience. The fishing was wonderful - didn't find a lot of walleye, but the pike and the bass sure made up for it. We caught fish all week long. Believe me, anyone who wants a quiet get-away on a beautiful lake should definately try the Outpost. The scenery is breath taking - and it made our week when we saw a cow moose in the channel into the lake. Our pal Shane got to see a nice bear along the shore one evening. It truly is a wilderness paradise ! So, many thanks to both you Gary and Kerrie for a memorable week. Everything, as always, was top notch and your efforts to make sure all have a great time, are greatly appreciated. I know Vickie and I will be back as soon as possible, and I'm sure the guys will be wanting to make the trip again too. Thanks again for everything-
The "Crew from Ohio" Gordon, Dan, Jason, and Shane Gary, Kerrie, and Family We would like to again thank you for the wonderful hospitality, great accommodations, and great fishing we experienced during our fishing adventure with you in May. Thanks for your concern during the minor family emergency that occurred during our stay. Since our return to Golden Eagle in 2004, we have had nothing but fun, great fishing, and a life time of wonderful memories. The camp has changed some over the years but every year your improvements make things better. A demonstration of your commitment to your guests, both young and old and your love of fishing. Your hints and advice about hot spots always produces fish for us. This year our 2 night adventure at the Outpost was quiet and relaxing. The fishing was excellent allowing us to have shore lunches each day. As with our stay at the Outpost, our 2 day stay at the Camp was just as relaxing and the fishing just as good. The cabins are always well equipped for our needs and the boats, motors, and bait always ready. I would like to thank you for allowing us to get out fishing on short notice upon our arrival. We always look forward to our time at Golden Eagle and the guys cannot wait for next May to arrive to do it all over again. Golden Eagle Camp is without a doubt the best fishing vacation spot that we have ever been to. The fishing is out of this world.... we caught our limit of walleye every single day and had luck on the beautiful, virtually untouched and affordable back lakes. The service at Golden Eagle Camp is remarkable. From trips to the bear dump and the back lakes, to ensuring you have everything that you need for your dream vacation, Kerrie and Gary and family do it all and are some of the nicest people you could ever meet. The cabins are beautiful and are equipped with everything you could possibly need. The scenery and wild life are breath taking. If you are looking for the dream fishing vacation of a lifetime, don't look any further because you will find it at Golden Eagle Camp. The Cottage was great, you had a boat with gas, bait, and everything ready for us to fish each day as we finished breakfast. The meals were unbelievable and served to perfection. Our hats off to you Kerrie and the girls for making our stay so friendly, warm and filling. Kerrie, your meals were great and more than enough to keep anyone from going hungry. Randy and Brent Grover In my personal opinion Golden Eagle Camp is a top notch establishment. The cottages are very spacious and clean, and staying with Gary and Kerrie was like staying with family, and they went to great lengths to make our stay as comfortable as possible. In between hunting for trophy bears and numerous grouse, the fishing was incredible, the fish seemed to always be biting. The guides will do whatever it takes to make your hunting or fishing trip a successful one. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the only words to describe the scenery is that it's like visiting God's Country. I would highly recommend the Golden Eagle Camp to anybody.
Craig Chinnick & Tasha Haskell, We have come to enjoy Golden Eagle Camp at Elk Lake as our summer retreat. A very serene and relaxing place to get away, your problems become a thing of the past. The host Kerrie and Gary put them selves out to accommodate and make you feel at home in this northern hideaway. Within a short time they make you feel like one of the family. Between fishing in the summer and hunting in the fall, hiking on the numerous trails, boating, fishing and swimming, there is always something to do. They have cabins for any size of group, but for us the small "Raven's Cove" gives us everything we need to make our stay comfortable, cozy and peaceful. The other guests are friendly and you are soon making new friends. The Golden Eagle Camp is well worth the drive to give you peace of mind and get back to nature.

Bear Hunt References: Just wanted to thank the entire Golden Eagle Family for a great 2006 bear hunt. The food was fantastic and the cabins were clean. Not to mention the outstanding bear hunting, 3 of 4 in our group took home a bear. This was my second bear hunt, the first was with a different camp, Golden Eagle has a great introduction to the hunt and is a very well run camp. Dear Kerrie, Gary, and Family at Golden Eagle Camp ...
I had never hunted bear before, and to be honest, I was a little apprehensive about giving it a try ! I just didn't know what to expect. When a fellow Michigan Bow Hunter told me about the experience he had at Golden Eagle Camp, it was just the nudge I needed ! A 13 hour drive from Oxford, Michigan to Elk Lake, Ontario, is a long drive, but he assured me that the trip would be worth the effort. We loaded up our trucks and convoyed our way there without incident. The emailed updates you sent on the bears and other hunters' reports fueled our excitement for our hunt. I've been to several hunting camps, and I have to say, I have never been treated as well as you and your family treated me. From the hospitality shown to us upon our arrival, to the education about bear hunting with a bow, to the preparation and packaging of our animals, you put us completely at ease and made us feel like we were part of the family. The cabins were clean, the stands and baits were plentiful, and I went home with an experience I will never forget - a Pope and Young, 522 lb. Black Bear ! This was my first bear hunt, but it will not be my last ! When I show people my pictures of may bear and they ask where I hunted, I give you and your camp the highest recommendations possible ! The meat is fantastic, and I just smile when I go to the freezer and pick out one of those brown packages with "Bear" written on it ! When I'm ready for my next Bear Hunt, I will contact you.

"By far one of the most peaceful and relaxing vacations that I have ever taken. The camp is clean, cabins are modern and the scenery is outstanding. Everyone is very friendly, even the other visitors. I think the camp atmosphere brings the friendliness out in everyone. The visitor on the left of us shot 3 Grouse and made us supper one night and the campers on our right picked bags of blueberries for us and grilled us a Pike. All this and we got to hunt bear too!!! My father and I were unsuccessful, but the bear were very much there which kept us anxious to go out every evening. Gary and Kerrie worked hard and had us on 6 different stands during the week and 5 were very active despite nasty winds from southern tornadoes. We will return." Gary, I have been hunting Bear in Canada off and on for 20 years and I would rate your camp much higher than most (even some that I have shot bear at). Please feel free to add me to your reference list. I would rate Golden Eagle Camps a 9 out of 10. Your stands were sturdy and as comfortable as a wooden stand can be. Thanks again for a great trip. After seeing pictures and video footage, I have other family members and in-laws interested as well.
Allen Phillips A SUCCESS STORY My long time friend Joe Benoit and I attended Outdoorama in Novi, Michigan. I said to Joe, "are we going to do this bear hunt we've been talking about for so many years?" "Yes" we agreed and two hours later we talked to six outfitters. Joe said, " I liked the first guy." "Me too," I said. "Let's go sign up." We chose Golden Eagle Camp and couldn't be happier. Every phase at the hunt was first class. The stands were attended every day, and the cabin overlooked the Montreal River. The food was so good you might go slap your mother. Nine hunters in camp; six got bears but everyone had a chance. Gary and his team brought my 200lb bear out with his four wheeler. They gutted, skinned and froze my bear. The day before I got my bear, I saw a 300 lb bear. My son and I are signed up for the 2005 season. I feel confident in getting another bear, perhaps that 300 pounder. However, I'm not telling you where I saw it.
Ron Pokely, I would like to encourage anyone to try an outing with Golden Eagle Camp. I went on a 2003 bear hunt with them, and had an outstanding experience! I found the guides and accommodations to be top notch. The hunting area holds many bears and other wildlife to enjoy. My particular hunt included meals that were fantastic, and hot. The few bucks it cost to have three squares a day, was a small price to pay. The guides worked very hard to try to aid in my success, and left no trick in the bag. My hunt concluded with me harvesting a bear with less than one hour left on my last day. EVERYONE back at camp was ecstatic, right down to the camp chef. As I pulled out to go home, I felt like I was leaving family behind. Feel free to email me with any questions.

Golden Eagle Camp's guides were very knowledgeable, and did their best to make our party successful - 5 out of 6 hunters took home their bear ! Speaking for myself, I was extremely happy with my huge 480 trophy and the new camp record ! Thanks again for a great hunt.

After being on a few outfitted hunts in Ontario, I made my first trip to Golden Eagle Camp in 2002 for moose. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. We had one of the greatest hunts of our lives. After having such a good time, we scheduled again for 2003, once again for archery moose. Just as with the first trip, our hunt was nothing short of excellent. We seen a few nice bulls, and had a couple up close, but no shots due to foliage. The accommodations are very comfortable, and the staff is top-notch. Gary and Kerrie are there to make your stay the best that it can be. Kerrie's cooking will surely make you leave a few pounds heavier than when you arrived. If you are looking for an excellent hunting trip, you will be able to find it at Golden Eagle Camp.
