Our Remote Back Lakes!!
Fraser Lake
Fraser Lake is on Highway 65 about 5 kms from the Camp, with a
parking & picnic area. It’s stocked annually with Brook Trout
through an MNR stocking program. The Trout are plentiful, but
tricky to catch. A little know-how, and some patience, will pay
off! Good for ice fishing with easy access.

 |
Sisseney Lake
Sisseney (or known as “Ness Lake” by the locals) is a very large
lake, located Northwest of our Camp and part of the Montreal
River. Access road is rough and a 4X4 is necessary, but it’s
well worth the trip. Every structure of fishing imaginable! Deep
rock faced cliffs, shallow weedy bays, deep channels, humps and
holes litter the lake bottom. Northern Pike, Walleye, and
Smallmouth Bass are lurking in every corner of the lake, and the
scenery is breathtaking. |
 |
Sydney Lake
Sydney Lake is the closest lake to the Main Camp. Since our
Outpost
Cabin is located there, we keep two boats on the lake at all
times.
It’s easy to get down the logging road to the boat ramp, with an
open
area to park your vehicle. It’s a long narrow lake, with
Northern
Pike, Walleye, and Smallmouth Bass. A large feeder creek comes
into
the lake on the North end, and it flows into Sydney Creek in
front of
the Camp. |
 |
Planty Lake
Planty Lake is another long narrow lake which has feeder creeks
coming
in and out. Accessible by ATV or small truck only, with a rather
steep embankment. Northern Pike and Walleye are most abundant
fish in this lake. |
 |
Hubert Lake
Hubert Lake is quite a large lake, with islands, rock shoals,
shallow weed beds and flats to fish. Easy to get to, with access
down a logging road. Northern Pike, Walleye, and Smallmouth Bass
are plentiful here. Top water action for Smallmouth is always
exciting! |
 |
Moses Lake
Moses Lake is difficult to get to and rarely fished. Accessible
by ATV only, it can be an adventure to reach the beautiful
shoreline. Northern Pike are plentiful and the peaceful serenity
will bring you back again and again.
|
 |
Indian Chutes Dam
Popular with our guests for shoreline fishing. Easy access by
car, with a short walk down a steep embankment. Wade across for
some exciting fishing action. |
 |
Middleton Lake
Right off Highway 66, Middleton has an island and a boat ramp.
Lots of Smallmouth Bass and Pike make this a popular lake with
our regular guests. |
 |
Mistinikon Lake
A very large long lake, accessible near the gold mine in
Matachewan, with a public boat launch that can accommodate
larger boats. Mistinikon Lake is 16 miles long, with a waterfall
at one end and a Hydro dam at the other. Fish for trophy sized
Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Perch and Northern Pike, or enjoy
tubing or water skiing. |
 |
Beaver Lake
Beaver Lake is a small lake, hidden from the traveller’s eyes.
It’s located very close to the highway and easy to slide a canoe
or light boat down it’s banks. This little lake is shallow, 6’
to 12’, and full of Northern Pike. Popular for ice fishing.
